Does your organization have additional funds to set aside for the future? Do you have a special program like a scholarship or award that would be best supported by a dedicated source of funding? Are you building a facility that will need extra funds for maintenance over the long term?
By establishing an endowment fund at the community foundation, you can benefit from the strong investment returns provided by our large portfolio, and we take the hassle out of fund management by handling all the administration, receipting, investment, taxation, and reporting associated with the fund. For more details on fund types, click here.
Arts Organizations: We can help you take advantage of the Department of Canadian Heritage’s Endowment Incentives program, which will match every contribution to your endowment fund, housed with a public foundation, up to dollar for dollar. Matching funds are a fantastic way to mobilize your donors and to see a fast return on your investment.
Many organizations start private endowment funds with their own financial institutions and then discover that fund management is more work than they expected or that the rates of return are less favourable than they could get by being part of a larger endowment pool.
We are happy to assist organizations with moving existing endowment funds to the community foundation. As specialists in endowment funds, we can take the burden of financial oversight and administration off your organization’s plate so that you can focus on your mission.
