A Story of Kindness from Small Point to Adam’s Cove | Nominated by the Town of Small Point to Adam’s Cove

When the wildfires came, Marie Kennel was always the last volunteer to go home.

Marie was there through all of the 2025 wildfires, from the first days through the evacuation and the return home. Other volunteers often had to remind her to call it a day. She’s the kind of person who shows up as soon as she hears a helping hand is needed.

Marie lost her own home in the fires. As she works hard to rebuild, she’s still lending a hand to her neighbours while the whole community rebuilds together.

Best Kind Giving was glad to support Marie as she builds a new home. Thanks to Carbonear Home Hardware for making that support go even further.

Know someone who is always giving back and could use some support? Nominate them today.

Support Trailing Falls Park

Trailing Falls Park has long been where people in Small Point-Broad Cove-Blackhead-Adam’s Cove come to walk, gather and connect with nature. The 2025 wildfires took a heavy toll on its trails, trees and recreation spaces. The Trailing Falls Park Fund will go toward cleanup, reforestation, rebuilding the trails and adding fire-resilient features to protect the park for the next generation. Your gift brings them one step closer.
