
Malobi Elueme
Malobi Elueme is an economist, researcher, and storyteller based out of St Johns, NL. Her work explores and documents instances of people and organizations utilizing community-led finance approaches in many different ways. She has received a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Alberta and a Masters in Economics from Memorial University.
Her professional experience includes business consulting for non-profits in the Atlantic region, mentoring the formation of cooperatives and reporting on the social finance ecosystem. She is presently employed as a Transforming Capital Fellow with the Community Foundations of Canada. Previously, she served as a Strategy and Partnerships Officer for Rethinking Economics International, a network of students and organizers with a mandate to challenge, interrogate and renew economics for social and climate justice.
Malobi is also a strong believer in the healing power of the arts. She is an avid musician and performer and can be frequently found at local music and theatre events.
